Spain prepares for the arrival of foreign tourists as of June

MADRID - Spain is preparing for the arrival of European tourists who, if everything goes as expected, will be able and allowed to travel to the Mediterranean country again from June. Important is the European Digital Green Certificate (DGC) that should make travelling much easier for Europeans.

The DGC is not a 'passport' as it is not essential and is not necessary for an EU citizen to enter another EU country. So without a DGC you can travel to Spain this summer but travelling with a DGC is easier and less complicated.

Incidentally, it was also recently announced that Americans who have been vaccinated may and can also travel to Spain without being required to go into quarantine after arrival in Spain. Like European tourism, American tourism is very important for Spain.

In Spain, the DGC are issued by the authorities in the autonomous regions. The DGC are free and personal and can be presented digitally or on paper at the controls in the EU countries.
